THE ENORMOUS RADIO is a large-scale audio-theatre experience featuring a chorus of old radios and animated dials. The concept draws on environmental field recordings, composition, text and performance to uncover intimate new ways of listening to the microcosmic layers of sound found in the natural world.
THE ENORMOUS RADIO is a multi-speaker installation, featuring a circle of 40+ old analogue radios that have been rewired to operate as an interconnected chorus of gently crackling speakers and moving dials. The radios call and respond to each other across the space, broadcasting haunting non-human conversations, sonic patterns and found-sound compositions.
As collaborators, we are recomposing from reality to conjure up alien compositions, haunted vessels and alternative world orders.
