Panic Stations is the culmination of four years of PhD research into narrative freeze as a method for expressing anxiety in video art.
Through fifty-five shots across sixteen channels, I perform The Anxious Woman, a cinematic trope defined by her simultaneous experience of ‘stuckness’ and excess.
Riding the slippery line between comedy, weirdness and horror, Panic Stations offers an affective maelstrom of the freeze, overwhelm and affect of anxiety.
